The job holder will be responsible for delivering innovative, high-quality, and competitive mechanical lock solutions that meet customer, regulatory, and business requirements. The position oversees mechanical development activities across the full product life cycle and ensures effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Principal Responsibilities:
Define and lead the mechanical products development strategy in line with business objectives
Manage and develop the mechanical engineering team
Lead mechanical design, development, and validation of products
Ensure robust designs meeting quality, cost, and manufacturability targets
Support industrialization and transfer to series production
Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and cost optimization
Ensure compliance with applicable standards for lock solutions and internal ASSA ABLOY guidelines
Lead technical root cause analysis of mechanical field issues
Perform required operational activities and reporting
Applicant Qualifications:
Degree in mechanical engineering or related field
Proven experience in mechanical product development
Experience in technical or people leadership roles
Strong knowledge of mechanical design, materials, and manufacturing processes
Ability to work effectively in an international, cross-functional environment
Strong analytical and decision-making skills
English proficiency at minimum B2 level
Willingness to travel
